Verify a business
Confirm a business is using the seal correctly
Check if a business is currently verified by Halal Community Council.
This page lets you check whether a business displaying the Halal Community Council seal is currently verified on the Register, HCC's public record of every place it has checked.
You can verify by using the record number printed on their seal, or by searching for the business name and region. If you cannot find a business that is showing the seal, you can let us know so we can look into it.
Why this matters
- Seals should mean something real, not just a design on the door.
- Honesty about who is and is not verified helps everyone trust the seal more.
- Verification does not replace your own conscience, but it can help you ask clearer questions.
The lookup
Check a seal or business
Use the record number (the badge ID) if you have it, or search by name and region.
If the business is currently verified, its record opens: the name, the city, the level, the date of the check, the good-through date, what the check covers and what it does not. If there is no public record under that number or name, the page tells you so.
The Register is maintained by Halal Community Council. It changes the moment a status changes: when a place passes its check, renews, reaches its good-through date, or has its seal withdrawn after notice and a chance to appeal. The live seal on a business's website follows within minutes.
By record number
The number on the seal
Every seal, window decal, counter card and menu sticker prints a record number, such as HCC-0001. Badge IDs from HCC's earlier badges are accepted too, and open the place's record once that place has passed a new check. A matching record opens directly.
By name and region
The name of the place
Search the Register by the business name, the city, or both. The Register lists places by name and never ranks them.
At the door
Scan the QR code
The QR code on every decal, counter card and menu sticker opens the same live record. So does the short address printed beside it, such as halalcommunitycouncil.com/r/HCC-0001.
On a website, the seal itself is live: select it to open the record.
How to read the results
What "Verified" means and what it does not mean
The old verification page said "Active member". The Register says what was checked instead: "HCC Verified" at a level, or "Not currently verified" with a date and a reason.
- HCC Verified, at a level, means HCC checked this location at that depth (Cornerstone, Pillar or Keystone), on the date shown, within the scope written on the record. It holds until the good-through date: the business is on the Register now, with a current check.
- It does mean the business passed a check against the published Standard, signed by a checker and a second reviewer, and has agreed to a set of expectations about how it serves halal conscious customers.
- It does not mean every detail or every dish has been inspected. The record says what the check covers and what it does not.
- It is not a religious ruling and not a food safety rating. HCC does not rule on religion and does not check food safety.
- If there is no verified record under that number or name, the seal should not be used in marketing.
- Not currently verified
- A status ended, with the date and one neutral reason: renewal not completed, closed or moved, or withdrawn after notice and appeal. The seal turns gray. The record stays on the Register for 12 months.
- Affiliated with HCC. Not eligible for an HCC seal.
- A business connected to HCC through its owners or leaders. It may be listed with an outside certifier's certification, but it never carries an HCC seal.
If you cannot find a business
Especially if you see a seal but nothing appears here
If a business is displaying the seal but does not appear as verified when you search, that is helpful for us to know. It may be an old seal, a misunderstanding, or a case where the seal should be removed.
You do not need to confront anyone directly or make a public accusation. You can simply share what you observed and where, and we can follow up from there.
Every place HCC checks, in one public record.
