HCC is getting ready to open. No place has been checked yet, and no seal has been issued. These pages describe how HCC's checks will work.

Transparency

What HCC has done, counted in the open

A seal is only worth trusting if the body behind it shows its work. This page counts what HCC has checked and decided, straight from its own records, every time the page loads.

Numbers only, never names. Nothing here identifies a person who raised a concern, a business under review, or what any business paid.

The line on every record

Businesses pay HCC an application fee and annual dues. Payment never changes the outcome of a check.

When a first check does not pass, the dues are refunded in full within 10 days. HCC keeps dues only when a place passes, so HCC earns more when places pass. That is why no one who checks, reviews or decides is paid more for a pass, the check system cannot see payments, and every seal needs two signatures and a committee decision. Refunding dues on a fail also means HCC never profits from failing a place.

HCC in numbers

Places verified counts published records only, not records still in their 3-business-day preview. Checks decided is counted through Sep 30, 2026, the end of the last full quarter.

Outcomes
Passed at the level applied for 0
Cornerstone 0
Pillar 0
Keystone 0
Passed at a lower level Fewer than 5
Not yet, with a written list Fewer than 5
Declined Fewer than 5
Applications withdrawn Fewer than 5
Median days from a complete application to a decision No decisions yet

First checks and yearly re-checks, by decision. A first check that does not pass never gets a public record, so it shows only here, and a count of those under 5 reads "Fewer than 5" so it never points at one business. Counted through Sep 30, 2026, the end of the last full quarter.

Concerns
Concerns received 0
Concerns closed 0
Median days to acknowledge No concerns acknowledged yet
Median days to close No concerns closed yet

Counts only: never who raised a concern, which business it was about, or what anyone wrote. HCC's own deadlines are 2 business days to acknowledge and 30 days to close a routine case.

This year
HCC Services delivered 0
Partner perks delivered 0

Counted from January 1. Partners pay for their own perks.

Reading the numbers

What each number counts

Some numbers appear twice, counted two ways. A place is first verified when its check is decided; its record joins the Register after the business has had 3 business days to preview it, and only then is it counted. Checks decided and the outcome counts run through the end of the last full quarter, so no number moves the day after a known business's visit.

  • Register verified, and by level

Places on the public Register that are HCC Verified today, in total and at Cornerstone, Pillar and Keystone.

  • Places verified, and by level

Every place with a current, decided check whose record is published. A record still in its 3-business-day preview is counted once it is published.

  • Register not current

Records that read "Not currently verified", with a date and one neutral reason: renewal not completed, closed or moved, or withdrawn after notice and appeal. Each stays public for 12 months.

  • Checks decided

Every check that has been decided, whatever the outcome: first checks, re-checks and reviews, counted through the end of the last full quarter.

  • Services and perks delivered this year

HCC Services delivered, and partner perks delivered to businesses, this calendar year. Partners pay for their own perks; HCC pays partners nothing.

What else HCC publishes

More in the open, as the first year runs

The outcome and concern counts are in the numbers above. Until HCC's first checks and cases are decided, the concern counts read zero and the outcomes that publish no record read "Fewer than 5". The first full yearly transparency report follows in November 2027, after HCC's first year of checks.

  • Outcomes

    Passed, lower level, not yet

How many applications passed, passed at a lower level, were told "not yet" with a written list, or were declined, counted through the end of the last full quarter. A first check that does not pass never gets a public record, so these counts are the only place it shows, and each outcome other than a pass reads "Fewer than 5" until there are 5 of it, so no count points at one business.

  • Concerns

    Concerns and response times

How many concerns came in, how many closed, and how quickly they were acknowledged and answered, against HCC's own deadlines: 2 business days to acknowledge and a routine case closed within 30 days. Junk and spam that staff close as not a concern are never counted.

What stays private

What this page never shows

Transparency about HCC's work never means exposing the people who trust it with a concern, or the businesses that open their kitchens to a check.

  • The name of anyone who raised a concern, or what they wrote.
  • Concerns, open cases or allegations about any business.
  • The private reasons behind a decision, or a business's documents.
  • What any one business paid, or which services or perks it used.
  • Who looked at a seal. Seal views are counted as daily totals, with no IP addresses.

Every number here has a record behind it.
